The same with me - maybe MS is sleeping... 
I just tried MSFS but got the same message: go for a mandatory update to the MS store. There is however no update available in the store. What next?
I had the same problem. There was a solution on the MSFS forum that worked for me.
Search the MS Store for XBox App, download & install it. Run the app then close it and go back to the store and click on "get updates". It should now show the new version available to download.
