Aircraft in Community not loading into MSFS

  • I've never been bothered by missing content, and just accepted it as a part of community content experience, but there have been a few aircraft I really want to play and can't figure out why they won't load in MSFS. I'm savvy with the Community folder and have many mods there I use daily, both scenery and aircraft, but there are some planes like the P3, Eurofighter and some others just won't show up in the UI.

I've checked the file structure compared to others to see if something was buried at the wrong level and it all checks out. Deleted and installed content and the game a few times and nothing snaps all the content in Community to show up in game.

Is there a way to force a re-index or something similar? Need to change process for certain spec add-ons? :/

  • Are you using a content, or addon, manager?

Some of these will do a QA check for you, and only allow you to add what you want for a particular flight, before you log in to flight sim.

I use MFS Addon Collector which appears to do a good job of making sure that all is well, and that your addons will work nicely with MSFS

  • I'm having the same issue. I drop the H135 folder into the community folder and ensure that it is not zipped or buried under several levels of folders, and it doesn't show up in MSFS.

I have also tried using MSFS Add-Ons linker using several different youtube videos as demonstration, and the addon aircraft don't show up.

  • Just a thought. Going back an update or two, one of them had created a "new" community folder and official folder on my windows explorer tab. When it did that the community folder in the sim "did not work at all". Crazy, but true. So, for a while I just used the community folder right there on the explorer tab list. Then, another update happened and then nothing in the community folder on the explorer tab worked and therefore no mods showed up in the sim. So, just on a whim I dropped a mod into the community folder in the sim location (as it should be) and it worked. So, put the rest in and they all are fine. Then I deleted the community folder and the official folder on the windows explorer tab list and now all is just peachy. So, having said all this, ensure you are using "a" community folder that works. You may have several and don't know it. After this happened I just simply made a "shortcut" to the community folder on my desktop. No problems since, even with this funky new SU5. All is well now except for the few remaining bugs supposedly to be fixed with SU6 which will add to a new list for SU7, etc, etc. etc..... Hope this might help.... Also make sure the mods you are adding do not need to be purchased first and then add the mods that go with the purchase later on. Sometimes I miss that little idea.

That's similar to my experience, and I had to track the folder down...

    Here's how I did it:

  • So I have loaded the C17, F22, the boomerang into the community and they work fine. The 737-800 however, loaded exactly the same way will not show up in aircraft choice window. Once in the game it shows up in the developer aircraft list but if I choose it there the game crashes. Any Help????

  • Along the same lines as the questions above... I have the basic version installed as it has virtually everything I need. However, if I download a free add-on aircraft from this site and install it to my community folder it will NEVER show up in my list of available aircraft. I do know that the Citation Longitude is only included with the Premium-Deluxe version and that's understandable. However, the add on Longitudes seem to be completely independent offerings. That being said, is anyone aware of a 3rd party Longitude that will work with the Basic version without having to upgrade to the prem-deluxe???

    Thanks :?:

  • The "add on" longitudes are probably repaints - liveries only, rather than a fully modeled airplane. Look at the size of the files, and their contents if you aren't sure. Open the zip file, and if it is an airplane, typically you'll find such items as

If it's just a livery (repaint), it'll look something like this

  • I'm attempting to download the MFS collector but it is downloading as an internet explorer file and will not let me open it once downloaded. Any troubleshooting tips? I'm also having issues displaying 75% of my flightsim.to downloads in game.

  • Hi Straley. I do not know about MFS collector but sometimes there are two scenery/airplane folders, one within another. Just make sure of this and move folders out of their "shell" if necessary. Make sure that you are putting your stuff into the correct community folder too as I noticed I have two packages folders on my laptop.

  • Hi Staley,

Are you talking about MFS Addon Collector?

It downloads as a zip file. You unpack it in Windows Explorer, and there is an .msi file inside. You run that and it installs the collector.

The other two files in the zip file with it are designed to resolve some possibly missing software on your PC. You only have to worry about them if once you've installed it correctly, it doesn't run, or tells you that one or the other of the other two apps is missing. Once you've installed MFSAC, open it and you'll find a full user manual to guide you through how you use it.

Let us know if this resolves your issue.
