Allflightmods site

  • Had the same problem myself. All of my repaints now appear on allflightmods.com and I didn't put them there. Their upload page has no advice that uploads can only be done with the authors permission. At least thje files appear to have been uplaoded in their entirety, who in my case includes a EULA advising they are not to be reuploaded without permission.

  • Please use this letter template https://flightsim.to/abuse.pdf to file a complaint to https://abuse.scaleway.com/.

    Abuse Type: Illegal Content

Paste the message contents above (replaced with your links) in the message box of Scaleway and send the abuse.

In case Allflightmods replies that you don't own the rights because its the livery of a airline company and only the company owns the rights, reply with another report message, indicating your previous report ID number, links and statements by them tell them you got a creative commons license for no commercial use, which does give you the right to use that trademark as your creation - also state that files contained within your files are solely created by you, and they are not allowed to share it in any way. Threat that if the file is not deleted immediately, you will file a complaint to Google, a complaint to your national copyright officer for law enforcement and all future correspondence goes through your attorney.

In case reporting to Scaleway might not be of success, you can also decide to hire a lawyer on this case. It may also be an option to send a direct mail to the Scaleway company headquarters, you'll find their address in Scaleways website. Last but not least, you may also seek the removal of your files at Allflightmods.com by Google, so they won't show up in Google search results anymore. To do so, please file a DMCA complaint https://support.google.com/leg…ubleshooter/1114905?hl=en to Google, and mention your works in detail, and exactly describe what and how they copied it. However, it may take up to one month until Google replies.

Besides that, please always make sure to include a ReadMe.txt in your files, clearly stating your copyrights and that you uploaded your mod exclusively on Flightsim.to. Also always use watermarks for your images before uploading them, somehow stating your username and Flightsim.to - which will make ripping contents a lot harder for content rippers. In addition, you may also enable the Only members can download option when uploading a file, so we can better track and ban content rippers.

I'm so sorry - but unfortunately, the internet is full of such fools and theres nothing you can do about it. Good Luck, and keep us updated!

  • Anybody up for automating this?

Working on a CRON job that scans that thieving website twice a day.

A list of submitted files (google docs worksheet-accessible to approved users) is searched for .

If a suspected file is found, you receive an email with all relevant data and an how-to to get them to remove the file (like the post above)

I spend at least an hour every week sending out take-down requests, might as well have the computer do some of it for me.

  • Two of my total 5 mods have ended up on that site too. (Only the two I've uploaded here, the three available from my own website haven't found their way over)

Now i KNOW these guys are just cloning the downloads from flightsim.to because of the version numbers. These two bush trips are only available here and on my site, and my website does NOT use version numbers. But these allflightmods ones have the version numbers from flightsim.to

I'm going to guess they either have a couple of guys watching all the modding sites and just copy/paste everything, OR they may even have a bot.

What's really interesting is even my paypal and buymeacoffee links are on it. BUT they removed the links that were in the original description that go to my own website.

    (See comparison screenshots)

This one line caught my attention:

This content was uploaded by website visitors.

That says to me that either A: They are openly admitting that someone other than me uploaded it, and/or they uploaded it themself.

  • Hello, just an update that the steps suggested by Exquisite above

works OK. Yesterday I filed an abuse complaint as instructed and today the files (all of them) were removed (I have checked). Good.

Now I noticed, modshost.com is doing the same type of scam including rewording of copyright and removing flightsim.to watermark from the screenshots. I contacted them via their contact form and asked for removal of the file... but nothing so far.

  • I found my Al Fursan paint on the "modshost.com" site. Difference between the 2 is, "modshost" has my paint as uploaded by a third party named "Souza". However, this is the only paint of 4-5 that is available here that has been "stolen". After the Al Fursan was found on the first post, I completely changed my "read-me" and copyright notice for all further uploads to here. So far, so good.

  • I found 7 of my files on their site and filed an abuse report.

They responded with the whole 'livery belongs to the airline so we're not taking it down' etc so filed another report.

However, does this responsibility of filing reports to other sites for 'stealing' content not lie with flightsim.to? I thought the whole idea of making it exclusive was that they help you with trying to take content down that has been stolen from this site?

In all honesty, other than credit stealing, what do I personally have to lose from other sites hosting my files? Doesn't flightsim.to stand to lose more in terms of missed potential traffic?

I'll see what they come back with on their next response, but if they still refuse, I don't think I'm really that concerned, or should I ask the owners/admins of this site to step in?

  • does this responsibility of filing reports to other sites for 'stealing' content not lie with flightsim.to

We can help you out if you submit a ticket via: https://flightsim.to/support/copyright-center

I thought the whole idea of making it exclusive was that they help you with trying to take content down that has been stolen from this site?

The idea of the exclusivity is that the owner has explicitly stated that the addon cannot be uploaded elsewhere and thus takes away from any copyright issues with the addon since it has been distributed elsewhere without permission from the original creator. If you have submitted your file exclusively, you have a better chance of your file being removed from other sites (via the copyright tickets above).

what do I personally have to lose from other sites hosting my files?

Honestly, not a lot. The main thing is that you might not be able to help people out as easily when your addon is hosted on 10 different sites and updating the addon also becomes quite a hassle if you want to actively maintain the addon on 10 different sites. This of course assumes you're constantly improving your addon which is not the case for most liveries.

Doesn't flightsim.to stand to lose more in terms of missed potential traffic?

Again, it's mostly because of the fact that it makes the copyright claims easier since the author has explicitly stated the addon shouldn't be uploaded elsewhere. It's not designed to drive away traffic from other sites.

should I ask the owners/admins of this site to step in?

I have just had three of my uploads successfully removed from allflightmods following the instructions above.

I have found one of my uploads on modshost and have contacted them both by using the "Incorrect? Let us know!" link at the bottom of the download page on their site. I have also submitted an abuse report via the content delivery network that fronts modshost: https://www.cloudflare.com/abuse/form

Cloudflare say they will forward the abuse report to the hosting company and the website owner but that they cannot remove content from web sites as they do not operate them, so let's see what happens there. They also claim that they will take action against repeat offenders, so I'd suggest anyone else finding their stuff on modshost.com without permission also submits an abuse report to Cloudflare.

I can confirm that the infringing download was removed within 24 hours of submitting the abuse report, so that's a result.

  • Boy am I happy I started this thread. I found that 3 of my F-15 paints were available there, no matter my read me. Contacted the host provider, and in 24 hours, all were removed. I've also included in the "legal" section, that nothing I release can/should be uploaded to that site. We'll say see how that works out.
