When trying to download, error 403 Forbidden

  • Hello

    For about a week I can't download anything anymore.
    Each time error "403 Forbidden".
    This happens after successfully entering the captha.

    It doesn't matter if logged or not, tried different downloads (aircraft, scenery, utitilies), tried from different pc's and different browsers on each.

    Emptied browser cache, cleand up pc, restarted router so I'd have different ip addresses, but no go.

    Any idea's?

    Thanks

  • Please use a different browser, preferably Google Chrome and make sure you have the latest version installed. Please also turn off browser plugins, such as ad blockers, if you have them installed. Cookies and Javascript must be allowed (default). Proxys, VPNs, Network Tunneling must be disabled.

    Our server needs to validate that your request comes from a legitimate "source" - our website. To do this, we use cookies, javascript, and the "referral" header, among other things. Normally, all browsers should support this.

  • Sorry about the thread necromancy. Same issue with the 403 here on my end.

    I tweaked my Firefox browser according to privacytools.io (https://privacytools.io/browsers/#about_config) and disabled WebRTC, canvas fingerprinting and what not. If you use Firefox as a browser, and I suppose any browser with advanced settings via about:config or chrome:flags, you probably need to change network.http.referer.XOriginPolicy and network.http.referer.XOriginTrimmingPolicy from 2 to 0

    That, or use a dumbed down browser like Edge. If you worry about privacy, make it clear everything when you close the browser.

    To quote:

    network.cookie.cookieBehavior = 1
    Disable cookies
    • 0 = Accept all cookies by default
    • 1 = Only accept from the originating site (block third-party cookies)
    • 2 = Block all cookies by default
    network.http.referer.XOriginPolicy = 2
    Only send Referer header when the full hostnames match. (Note: if you notice significant breakage, you might try 1 combined with an XOriginTrimmingPolicy tweak below.) Source
    • 0 = Send Referer in all cases
    • 1 = Send Referer to same eTLD sites
    • 2 = Send Referer only when the full hostnames match
    network.http.referer.XOriginTrimmingPolicy = 2
    When sending Referer across origins, only send scheme, host, and port in the Referer header of cross-origin requests. Source
    • 0 = Send full url in Referer
    • 1 = Send url without query string in Referer
    • 2 = Only send scheme, host, and port in Referer
