Is there a download speed limit?

No, not for me. And i read on the site that there was no speed limit

I just tried to download something and it downloaded at less than 200KB/s, earlier today I downloaded something else at that maxed out at around 500KB/s. All other websites and their downloads seem fine so it doesn't seem to be on my end, I also tried downloading with a VPN but it wasn't any faster. I am in Germany if that matters.

Hi there. No, we have no intended limits, except the limits that our server and your internet connection technically allow. However, we're aware that during peak traffic times, especially in the weekend evenings, the download speed tends to drop. I ask for your patience and possibly to pause the download temporarily. However, we have already increased our resources and assume that there will be less or no more bottlenecks from tomorrow.

The download speeds should be a little faster now, keep in mind that your download speed may vary throughout the day as a lot of users are simultaneously downloading a lot of addons on the website, especially on Saturday and Sunday

I'm struggling too, it only appeared to slow down over the last week. It used ot take 5 seconds before a download would start, now it's taking 14 seconds (it counts down).

Like I said, the download speed wildly varies between time of day and day of the week, Sunday evening (Europe time) is one of the busiest times on the website which probably explains the slow download speeds.

Thanks for your patience everyone. I know, we all hate waiting. We had some struggles during this weekend, and I hope that we were able to fix these issues now, so that everything should LIKELY be back to somewhat normal. That's what happens when thousand of users simultaneously try to download huge files, but yeah - the good news is that we will be better prepared in future and that the speeds will likely not drop rapidly into low KB/s ranges again, as we scaled up.

But as always, we recommend to download huge files outside of peak hours, if somehow possible.

Much better here. Now getting 6.5-7.0MB/s on a large file.
