Edit parking ramps

Unlike good old AFCAD, I don't believe that there is anything similar for MSFS 2020. If there are parking spots on airfields that are in the wrong place, you will need to go to the developer of the airport and argue your case. If you just want to create new, currently unmapped parking spots, then you are going to have to develop an addon for each airport, using the SDK and its tools to get it working for you.
You can download the SDK and its development tools, and documentation, from Developer mode, in the Sim itself.
You'll also find lots of useful videos on YouTube to assist you with your development task. This series

Thanks John for the information John, I hope the edit facility will be made available in a future update.
I created the airfield over the top of EGAJ which is an existing MSFS site so I don't think I will get any help from the developer!
I learned to fly there so I know the layout pretty well, it is disappointing to find randomly parked aircraft of an unlikely type especially when there are several spots in front of the hangar I used to use.
Is it possible to designate the parking spots so that they will not be used?

Again, it's a case of redoing the whole air[port, or at least those parts of it you want to change.
-
Thanks, the benefits would not justify the time and effort involved so I will have to accept it.
Your input has been a huge help.

Though I've never tried it, I think this is what Airport Design Editor is for.

I could be totally wrong but I believe it digests the existing airport and then serves it up in its own editor so you can tweak what's already there.
The SDK does indeed nuke every element you want to change.

If it's by ScruffyDuck (Jon Masterson), it'll be a good one. And not too difficult to use. Thanks for that link. Jon developed, and helped develop, a lot of the tools used for FSX. I'm glad that he's still on the scene.

The ADE is by ScruffyDuck and I know a little about it, I will study it some more to see if it will help.
I think I may have to work out how to set up an ADE project to work with an SDK project.

Well, knowing Jon, there is probably a fairly straight forward way to deal with parking spaces - from memory, he was involved with AFCAD (which just in case you aren't of that generation, was the parking tool for FSX) back in the day...

Thanks, I will let you know when I've cracked it, might be a few days.
