Can't submit contribution

  • Hi, I recently attempted to submit a airport addon for MSFS2020, after uploading a rar archive with only the needed contents and hitting the submit button I just get a pop up that says it failed and a bunch of HTML.

I would post the HTML but last time I tried this the post was blocked for aubusive behavior (I assume it didn't like the HTML code even though I put it in code brackets) and the contact link went no where.

  • Next time you try, put the HTML into notepad, save it as a text file, create a post, and add it as an attachment. If the iste doesn't like that, zip the file, then add it. I think that should work OK.

Let us know how you get on.

Thanks, the forums won't let me add attachments of any type either. Is it because I'm a new user?

I ended up uploading the text to dropbox.

  • Yeah I saw that. I tried to upload the .txt as just the .txt and a zip file and it wouldn't let me.

I think I understand what is happening there now though.

I uploaded a test text file as a attachment just now and it was fine.

I think the attachment system has a system in place that prevents html as a way to prevent malicious code from being run from within.

    Doesn't explain why I can't submit a addon though.

  • How copious is the html? Too much to include in a post?

How about paraphrasing the html a bit - substituting bits that may ring alarm bells, like changing "html" to "lmth", perhaps changoing some of the symbols, and putting a decode key below it. Thin put it in a .txt file, zip it up, and post it. A lot of bother, but it may be the only way, short of emailing it to a willing developer to sort out for you.

Are there messages in the html, for instance, which may help someone decode what's going wrong?

And can you confirm that you've followed all of this?

Yes, I've followed all the rules for the submission and it only includes the files for the addon.

    It's 3618 lines :/

To me it looks like the html code for the front page of the website.

    Thanks for the help.
